From Trash to Treasure

Hi! We’re Ashley and Jennifer, the new proud owners of Nook & Cranny Book Wagon! It all started in the summer of 2026 when we saw former owner Emily’s Instagram post about having to give up her incredible book trailer. We knew as lifelong readers and teachers that this was an amazing opportunity and adventure to embark on. We’d both always dreamed of running a bookstore, and as a book-loving women, we saw the Nook & Cranny Book Wagon as our way in. So here we are sharing a new experience running a cozy, story-filled bookshop on wheels!

Paint, Panels & Patience

Emily and her father took up the challenge and completed the amazing renovations! Taking the trailer down to its bones—gutting the interior, stripping the walls, sanding years of wear off the exterior, and laying down brand-new flooring. Between tackling stubborn rust and making (what felt like) endless repairs, it was a true labor of love for them. But, every step brought them closer to turning this old trailer into something special - an amazing children’s book store on wheels for families and friends to enjoy for years to come. Fun fact: the Nook & Cranny trailer actually features reclaimed wood from Reno’s beloved Sundance Bookstore!

From one person’s imgaination to acutality to a new adventure for friends ….

Renovating the trailer was just one part of the adventure! Selling the beloved business was another stepping stone. Behind the scenes, the new owners, Ashley and Jennifer have tackled a mountain of paperwork, from securing a new title and registration to making sure they had the right business licenses and insurance. While the process truly tested our patience, every form signed and box checked brought us one step closer to hitting the road!
